Questions, answered

Real questions. Straight answers.

Whether you're a teen, a parent or a teacher, here's how UnEdited works and what to expect. If your question isn't here, email us at [email protected]. A real person reads it.

For teens

What is Teens UnEdited?

Six short books, free live sessions and a three-minute check-in, all built around one idea: you don't have to edit yourself down to fit the room. It starts with agency (making things happen) and ends with conviction (meaning it). Read one book or all six. Show up to one live session or all four. It's yours to use however you want.

What does "editing yourself" mean?

It's the quiet stuff. The opinion you don't say because the room already agreed on a different one. The thing you're into that you stopped mentioning. The version of you that goes online instead of the real one. Small trims, until you can't remember what you actually think. Nobody announces it, which is exactly why it works. The good news: you can catch it early.

Is this a school thing or a me thing?

Both. Some teens find UnEdited through a class or a club. Plenty find it on their own. Nothing here requires a teacher, a grade or permission to start reading.

What's the check-in? Is it a test?

No. It takes about three minutes, it's private, and there's no score and no right answer. It gives you a read on how much of the real you is making it into the room, one thing to try next, and which book fits where you are. You can stop anytime and nothing is saved until you finish.

Do I have to be a certain age?

The program is built for ages 13 to 18. You need to be at least 13 to use the site. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to make any purchase or set up any account that keeps your information. Reading and the free stuff, you can do on your own.

Will anyone see my answers?

Your check-in answers are yours. We don't post them, share them with other teens, or sell them. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian can ask to see or delete them. If your school enrolled you, your school sees program results, not the world. The full details are in our Privacy Policy, and it's written so you can actually read it.

What if I'm going through something serious?

UnEdited is about identity and conviction. It isn't therapy, counseling or medical care, and we're not a substitute for those. If you're struggling, talk to a trusted adult, a school counselor or a doctor. In the US you can call or text 988 any time to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

The books and live sessions

What are the six books?

Three acts, two books each. Act One, make things happen: Lucky Isn't Random and Different on Purpose. Act Two, do it as yourself: You, Not a Copy and Stop Suppressing, Start Unleashing. Act Three, keep becoming, on purpose: Glow Up. For Real. and Mean It. Each stands alone. Read in order, they build the whole thing. Every book is adapted from one of Glenn Llopis's leadership books, rewritten for you.

When do the books come out?

Reserve the set on the Books page and we'll tell you the moment they drop. Reserving costs nothing and doesn't commit you to anything.

What is UnEdited Live?

Four free live online sessions, 60 minutes each, two on agency and two on being unedited. Each one is built on a book. Show up, ask anything, leave with something you'll use. Register for one or all four. If you miss one, sessions are available on demand afterward.

Do I have to be on camera?

No. You can attend with your camera off and ask questions in the chat. Sessions may be recorded for on-demand viewing, but participants' video and names aren't shown in public recordings without permission, and a parent can ask that a teen not appear in any recording.

What's Your Space?

Your Space is the online home for the curriculum, for teens and schools enrolled in the program. If you have a login, it's in the top nav. If you don't, you don't need one to use the free parts of the site.

For parents

My teen seems fine. Is this for them?

Editing yourself down looks like growing up. That's what makes it hard to see. The research says authenticity drops sharply as teens become young adults, and the strongest protective factor across every measure is belonging: being around people who see the real you. UnEdited gives your teen language for what's happening and a place to practice being un-edited. Start with the parent check-in; it's three minutes and it's built for you.

What's in the parent room?

A check-in written for parents, a family reading guide, the research behind the program, and a way to actually talk about it with your teen without it turning into a lecture. Enter your name and email on the For Families page to unlock it. It's free.

Is my teen's information safe?

We collect only what we need to run the program, we don't sell it, and we never use a minor's information for advertising. You can review, correct or delete your teen's information at any time by emailing [email protected]. The full policy is on our Privacy Policy page.

Who is Glenn Llopis?

A Forbes contributor for more than 17 years, author of six leadership books, and founder of Glenn Llopis Group, which has spent 20 years helping Fortune 500 companies, healthcare systems and universities unleash the people inside them. Teens UnEdited is the prevention side of that work: the same crisis he sees in burned-out executives at 45, caught at 15, while the self is still a first draft.

For schools and educators

How does UnEdited fit a school setting?

It's a six-book social-emotional program for ages 13 to 18, aligned to CASEL and state SEL standards and mapped book by book to all five CASEL competencies. It works in middle and high school classrooms, advisory, counseling and faith-based settings, and it comes with a built-in pre/post measure, the Unedited Index, so a pilot produces the one thing decision-makers ask for: defensible outcome data.

What is the Unedited Index?

The program's measurement instrument. Students take it before and after the unit, and the results turn a unit into publishable outcomes for your school. Individual results go to the school; anything used beyond your school is aggregated and de-identified.

Who controls student data?

Your school does. We act as a service provider, use student information only to deliver the program to your school, never for advertising, and delete or return it at the end of a pilot on request. Our Privacy Policy covers this in detail, and a data-protection addendum is available on request.

How do we start?

Book a call from the For Schools page. We'll walk through the evidence, the standards mapping and what a pilot looks like for your school.
